A baby is born with a need to be loved — and never outgrows it.Frank A. Clark

Another Sunday, another day we always look forward to. For us, Sunday morning is CRIBS Day. We see to it that we are there by 9 am to feed the babies their snacks of lugaw or porridge. Then, time for play.

Babies need social interactions with loving adults who talk with them, listen to their babblings, name objects for them, and give them opportunities to explore their worlds. Sandra Scarr

At least from 9 to 11 am and 2 to 4 pm everyday, CRIBS opens its doors to volunteers. This is a time to give of oneself, to care without let-up. These innocent babies need caring for, a caring outside that of their caregivers, nurses and attendants.

It is the nature of babies to be in bliss. Deepak Chopra

How the babies love company. The moment you get in their playroom, which is also their home, you get in an entirely different world, a place of smiles, of laughter, you almost drop the concerns of the moment.

There is no finer investment for any community than putting milk into babies.
Winston Churchill

These babies, as all babies are, are a source of joy. Hug them, caress them, kiss them, tickle them, soothe them, and all you get is pure delight, not from one but from two, three, four…as many as could fill your two hands and feet.

Babies are bits of stardust, blown from the hand of God. Barretto

Every moment with them babies is a magical moment. Yes, magical moments so pure, they warm the heart, they fill the heart, brimming with love.

Babies touch the world with love.
Children are a handful sometimes, A heartfull all the time…

Young as they are, these babies cope. They only have their caregivers to act as their pseudo-mothers. At CRIBS, you can see how their caregivers take care of them, pay attention to them, and love them as though they are truly theirs.

Ten fingers, Ten toes She’s laughter and teardrops. So small and brand new And amazingly angelic She’s sent to bless you. She’s one special Baby. The best of life’s treasure. And will grant and bless you Many hours of great pleasure. Author Unknown

Two hours was all we had. As we said good-bye, we put them into bed, gave them their milk, turned off the lights, then kissed them good-bye, with a promise to return. A promise more to oneself than to them. Time runs so fast, yet there is always another day to look forward to.

You can visit them, spend some time with them, bring them cheers. And yes, even adopt anyone of them. Babies, anyone?
