With A Great Big Hug And A Kiss From Me To You

I never really got the hang of leaving the CRIBS home. After 6 months of regular volunteering, you’d think a person would be used to just having only two hours every week of visiting these kids.

But no.

Every week there is something that pinches my heart whenever I bid and hug and kiss the babies goodbye.

At first I always thought that I was the one being there for them. It turns out that they were also the ones who were there for me.

As a person grows up and goes on with his life, sometimes, he ends up growing up too much. A person loses all child-like qualities and replaces them with “more important” stresses of the world.

And I guess, that’s why I’m so thankful for all the children in CRIBS. They teach me how to be a kid again.

Every Sunday I find myself laughing, dancing, running, rolling on the floor while being the short and stout teapot with the handle and the spout the toddlers totally love. Our friend the itsy bitsy spider who went up the water spout gives us cheer whenever we were tired of running around. And of course, Barney and his friends never fail to make us laugh and dance and sing along whenever he was there.

One can easily tire with all the energy that the kids have. But if you really think about it, it actually has a lot of worth. Rather than wasting your energy and time on things that don’t really matter that much in the world, I think it’s much much better that you share them instead to the much more energetic children who actually need people like you.

Who knows? Maybe in the end you might also eventually be needing them.

Volunteer for CRIBS! Call them up at 6815921 or 6818078 and ask them when you can volunteer. If you can’t physically visit the foundation, you can still help through donations. See here how to: http://www.cribsfoundation.org/howtohelp.html

I am very very interested in volunteering for CRIBS. I don’t have much financially but I have more in my heart to share. I will call CRIBS first thing tomorrow to know how I can volunteer. Thank you for this article.
